Project Overview | Target Corporation

As a Senior Experience Design consultant at Target, I partnered with engineering and product teams to define and launch the first iteration of Target's Retail Design System using Atomic Design methodology. This involved a comprehensive content audit and creating design components across all major page types at every breakpoint, from jumbo to micro, based on Bootstrap grid standards.

In parallel, I designed wireframes for the full Cart and Checkout experience and ran iterative user testing sessions, recording and presenting videos of real user feedback to stakeholders, designers, developers, and product teams to drive informed design decisions. I also contributed to delivery services and email design projects across other teams, working within Target's brand standards throughout.

Key Contributions

Conducted a comprehensive content audit to identify gaps and inconsistencies across the customer journey from browse to checkout, partnering closely with engineering, product, and design teams to align on process and establish consistent standards.
As the lead consultant on the founding Design System team, I collaborated with developers, product managers, and accessibility specialists to define and launch the first iteration of Target's Retail Design System using Atomic Design methodology.
Designed wireframes for the Cart, Checkout, and Registry flows, creating responsive Bootstrap templates across all breakpoints. Ran iterative rounds of user testing, recording sessions and presenting findings to stakeholders and cross-functional teams to inform design decisions.
